From making the decision to pursue music to the widespread acclaim of singles like “body&soul,” KALLITECHNIS is applying the introspective lessons she’s learned along the way.
With an intriguing mix of deeply personal, yet relatable lyrics and upbeat, euphoric feel-good music, KALLITECHNIS is the artist that is making waves for being her authentic self. Calling upon her innermost feelings and emotions experienced along her journey as an artist thus far, KALLI puts it all out there – vulnerabilities, flaws, internal battles, relationships and all – with her expression becoming a sort of self-therapy and healing treatment.
“I want listeners to lose themselves in the melodies and find themselves in the lyrics,” KALLI says.
Derived from the Greek term meaning “master of craft,” KALLITECHNIS was particularly fond of the name because it didn’t limit her to one particular form of expression. She reiterates that she, by no means, has mastered her musical craft yet, but to KALLI, it’s more so an opportunity to live up to the name and truly manifest what it means.
Every master was once a pupil, however, and while KALLI had her start singing in musicals and entering talent shows, it wasn’t until recently that the Montréal artist had built up enough courage to decide to take the plunge and share her talents with the world via social media – and ultimately follow her dreams of pursuing music full-time.

“I just came to the realization that if I didn’t at least try to do this, I’d regret it for the rest of my life,” she admits candidly. “I had suppressed the need to make music for a very long time because it just didn’t seem practical, and everyone around me just dismissed the thought and treated it as a hobby, and so I did the same.”
“But practical doesn’t really matter if it compromises your ability to express yourself.”
For KALLI, the road to get here has been anything but smooth or straightforward. She’s learning along the way not only what it takes to succeed in the music industry, but that inner peace and personal growth is equally as important to the sound she puts out there, looking at life as a constant work in progress, rather than a journey with a destination. “I’ve learned that my vulnerabilities are not my flaws,” she declares.
Instead, she’s learned to trust her intuition and decision-making in a creative capacity, as well as a personal one. Being able to unapologetically put herself out there and share her work with the public was a big first step and it’s been a steady climb ever since.
“The way I have perceived and continue to perceive myself, my self-confidence and my senses of purpose and identity both as a person and as an artist,” KALLI admits. “Being in tune with who you are, and remaining focused and true to your soul are internal battles that occur daily.”
Her ethos “SOUL OVER EGO” is a proclamation against forces like greed, pride and selfishness, things that, to KALLI, get in the way of what matters most–our ability to love and feel. She’s unafraid to be vulnerable, a realization that has only come with time, and is a believer that introspection that inspires is highly therapeutic, which is why she refers to her own music as introspective soul.
“It’s a form of therapy for me, however, I’m 100% aware of the fact that I’m sharing my expression with others,” Kallitechnis says. “And so I definitely write with that in mind, hoping that I can impact whoever listens to the music in a positive way, through what I know are shared struggles, questions, and identity crises.”
KALLI also admits that the most influential force behind putting pen to paper is relationships. “Relationships of all kinds: relationships with self, platonic relationships and romantic ones,” she exclaims. “I’m also a crazy overthinker who questions purpose and identity multiple times a day.”
“The way I see it, as long as I’m living and breathing and existing within a society, there will always be more than enough to write about,” she explains.
The fun-loving energy, positive vibes, carefree nature and soaring voice has come to define KALLI’s sound, with a well-intentioned, honest and genuine charisma radiating from her soulful aura. From her very first single, 2016’s “Talk Talk Talk,” it was clear that KALLI wanted to convey her signature mood and irresistible energy.
After the initial success of “Come Up” and “Song for You” in 2017, and this year’s “body&soul” already racking up the listens across streaming platforms, KALLI is set for a big 2018, with more collabs, her first visual and an EP set to be released this summer.
“I’ve grown to be more confident; still very much improvising all facets of my life, but enjoying the process nonetheless,” she continues. “I’ve been blessed with an abundance of emotional support and love in this past year, and I most certainly intend to put that good energy back into the universe. As long as I’m alive and creating, my music will ebb and flow along with me.”
